There was a time when gambling was considered to be an underground activity. If you go back to the 1940s, you would see the stereotypical gamblers rushing around casinos. Mobsters and entertainers made up that stereotype. They were the high rollers who clogged the poker tables. This is what made up the perception of gambling for a long time but then things began changing. Suddenly more and more casual and friendly games began croping up in the market. This changed the overall feeling for gaming and people started wanting to join in on the fun. Suddenly land based casinos started getting more customers who were more “everyday”. They brought some prices down and varied the wager requirements for games. This brought a new popularity to the games and opened the door for a bigger customer base. Things like the World Series of Poker were born too in the 1970s. This was a huge change for the gaming public. Suddenly as the poker games gained more players, it created more tournaments in the world. These are all examples of how gambling has been growing in popularity and widening its market.
If you look at the average gamer now, the sterotype is totally obliterated. No longer is there a slim demographic to promote to. With the rise in internet gambling now there is even a bigger market to play with. Gambling companies are building big promotions that span all bankrolls too. If you have a limited bankroll you can still find casinos that offer the big payouts to you. Some casinos are even free so it won’t cost you anything to join in on the fun. The risk is virtually gone as you wager but still have an opportunity to win cash prizes. The way the gaming companies are opening up the market can be seen too with the movement of mainstream advertisers into big tournaments. Now it is common to see mainstream advertisers posting their brands at the WSOP. This was formerly unheard of. As the market continues to expand and more states legalize gambling, expec the market to continue to blow up and welcome more players. It is an exciting time in gambling and gamers are on the cusp of innovations and fun with the online market.

In the world of gambling the market is wide open. No longer is gambling a secretive activity. In today’s market there are millions of gamers that proudly praticipate in wagering of al kinds. From poker to slots gaming and sports wagering to baccarat, people are pushing for more and better gambling opportunities. That isn’t hard for gaming companies to provide either. They now have technology on their sides and they are using it to its full advantage. If you are worried about wagering, then look at a few online casinos. You are going to see a long list of options gaming companies offer to their customers. This is why so many keep on coming back. Not only are you going to find special bonuses and games, you are also going to find returns for loyalty. Take advantage of all of these tools and you are going to see why so many people are jumping on the gambling bandwagon. It is one of the most fun activities of the market and peopel love it.
One of the recent moves though is for gambling to move into the mainstream. Consider that there was a time when the World Series of Poker was advertised via word of mouth alone. You had to know one of the organizers and they would let you know that it was happening. Sure they did their jobs at promoting it, but it was only accessible to a few hundred players. It even started with just six players. Now if you look at the WSOP, you are going to see how far gambling has come. The games are now broadcast live via ESPN and ESPN2. There are big name corporate sponsors offering millions of dollars to the event because they know just how many people it reaches. They have done their homework and know that one good advertisement reaches a huge demographic and that means more money for their companies. It isn’t small companies either- it is big name corporate sponsors who are contributing hundreds of thousands of dollars to the tournament. They want in on the huge advertising possibilities avialable. This is just one example of how far gambling has come and how it has broken through the doors of the mainstream media market.

One of the biggest problems in today’s market of gambling is regulation. Though some countries are supportive of gambling and its advertisements, there are still some that are stepping in to deny various promotion. South Africa is one of these countries. It is no secret that the country has long been pushing for changes in gambling but legislators are not open. In fact, they have stood staunchly against gambling and its legalization. So far the government is undecided on the issue as a whole and that is coming to a head now that the government is stepping in the way of advertisers. Advertisers want to push their products to the market. Gambling companies know that there are potentially millions of dollars to be had with their customer bases. They are pushing for changes in the market that can help them to realize those millions on a consistent basis. The South African government however is making things difficult for companies as the country debates gambling as a whole.
The Department of Trade and Industry of Africa is so far following the lead of British regulations on gambling company advertising. The country is making regulations for gambling advertisers somewhat similar to the hefty regulations that liquor distributors have to work under. There is one shortfall though—they aren’t dictating what companies should expect in terms of print advertising from gambling companies. This window is leaving a clear door open for gambling giants to write their own rules. This window may not be open for long though. Thus far casino companies and industry insiders have been given just one month to debate out any suggestions they have regarding promotions and advertising. So far advertisers on television have to limit their gambling ads to what is defined as the “nighttime” hours. Restrictions could grow tougher as the market moves on. It doesn’t seem like the gambling world in South Africa is going to be sorted out any time soon and it could have more restrictions on it before arguments are finished. Only time will tell what happens, but South Africa is shaping up to be a country not enamored by the millions of potential tax revenue dollars gambling has to offer.

The growth of poker in the gambling market has been a thing of beauty for gaming companies. It is working just like it should be—bringing in thousands of new players every month and bringing in added millions along with them. The most intriguing thing about the game is that is the perfect combination of skill and luck. Sure there is an element of luck—if you don’t have the right cards you are going to have a hard time coming up with a win, but you can still work with a hand. If you have a good strategy, you can sometimes overcome a naturally bad hand. You can still parlay it into a valuable winning game. This is why so many gamblers love the game. Plus add to the basic set up the fact that the games have a wide variety of different styles to enjoy and you won’t easily get bored with the game possibilities that are out there.
With all the game of poker has to offer, it also has to work hard to continue to bring in new gamers. One of the strategic ways it does this is via online and public endorsements. Most companies today have worked their way well into the mainstream market’s acceptance. It was not too long ago when gambling was still considered to be an underground activity that took a lot of money to play. High rollers, entertainers and other famous and wealthy people partook in the hobby, but few others dared. Today’s market has opened up that exclusivity to a long list of gamers who can reasonably find affordable games to enjoy. Now it is endorsement deals that are helping the world of gambling companies to find that greater market. Full Tilt Poker is an example of a casino that is using endorsements to its advantage. The company has so far signed many lucrative deals with sports stars. Their most recent is James Blake a top notch professional tennis player. His joining the team is proving to be a great deal because it is helping with advertising potential. Expect more and more poker-related companies to start moving into the market of endorsements. They know how large the market is and want to spread the word on what to gamers can expect and get via the market as vastly as possible.

A sign of where gambling online is moving can be seen with the sheer number of sponsorship deals on the table now. A few years ago it was unheard of for a gambling company to have big-name corporate sponsors. For the most part gambling was considered to be an underground activity for high rollers. Sure there were some other players who participated, but the biggest demographic was gamers who were looking to spend a lot quickly. Now that market has opened up to include people who love to wager—high rollers and moderate level wagerers too. Online casino Bodog.com has just signed on to a contract with Edmonton Oilers, an ice hockey team in Canada. The deal allows Bodog.com to advertise its brand at all the games and to feature the team on the online casinos the company operates. The play also involve rink—board advertising plans, track signs and radio spots featuring the new coupling. This is a sign of where the market is quickly moving. Gambling companies are finding that they command the same respect in the market as other large top-dollar companies. Just as easily as you would see Jet Blue or Microsoft advertising at a sporting event, now you are going to see more and more gambling companies doing the same.
And why shouldn’t they? Gambling companies are showing record numbers right now. They are seeing a huge growth rate and even in a still-depressed economy, they are one of the few markets that still shows growth and revenue consistently. If you love to wager, then you are part of that demographic that is being targeted to the advertising plans of gambling companies. President of the Oilers, Patrick LaForge stated that this teaming up with Bodog.com is a great move for the team and the online gambling company. The mutual promotion both are going to get from the move should be well worth the millions of dollars being transferred from the casino to the team. Plus many members of the team are excited to test out the games at Bodog.com themselves. They are fans of gaming and are anticipating hours of fun at the online casino.

One of the biggest moves in the world of business is finding sponsors. A good sponsorship deal can bring huge returns. Consider Michael Jordan sponsoring a clothing line like Nike—he gets paid millions to promote the brand, but in return the brand gets huge notoriety and sales. Sponsorship deals in the world of gambling have grown considerably. The WSOP started off as a small gathering of players who loved the game. This year the tournament was sponsored by corporations to the tune of millions and millions of dollars. This is one example of how sponsorship deals are put together in the world of gambling these days. Recently the Jockey Club, one of the biggest sports clubs in the market, and Stan James announced a sponsorship deal that is going to last for five years. The deal starts at the Cheltenham Festival with the beginning of the Stan James Champion Hurdle. Stan James is paying the Jockey Club for their promotion and hoping that the move is mutually lucrative for both companies.
One of the biggest players to benefit from the sponsorship deal is going to be Racing for Change. It is a project that is scheduled to bring a new notoriety to the world of race tracks and expand its market. remember that since the recession, race tracks have suffered in numbers greatly – almost to the point of eliminating race tracks from the market altogether. Racing companies all over the world are struggling and people are not yet coming back into the doors. Many have formed “racinos”, or combinations of race tracks with slots parlors, in an effort to bring in more people to wager. The Racing for Change is an event that hopes to gain a lot of notoriety from the sponsorship deal. If it can change things, the race tracks involved can benefit. Part of the problem with the market is how can it turn the reputation of ‘low returns’ around? Some companies are pushing for bigger returns on gambling and extra prizes to bring more people into the tracks. This sponsorship deal can with to help the companies involved come up with a new, and much needed market of gamblers.

Almost everyone knows full well what Marvel Comics are and how many superheroes were born out of them in the past. The company made a deal recently with Cryptologic, an online gaming software company, to license their superhero titles as slots games. The Cryptologic games are premier because of the company—it is a leader in translating games into the online market. The two companies formed an agreement initially allowing Cryptologic to create games, but then the company wanted more freedom. Namely, they wanted to be able to use the characters and brand them more heavily in the market. The modifications going on allow the companies to both flourish even more. Cryptologic wanted to bring the likenesses of Marvel Comic superheroes not just to gambling games, but to the market of mobile gaming and hotel room slots parlors. They want to push the names into the mainstream market and then capitalize on how well they do. The names are no problem. If you browse through the names you are going to find a slew of notable ones from the Fantastic Four to the Avengers and Spider Man to the Hulk. They are all popular already, but Cryptologic wants to push them even more to other arenas beyond just the online market.
The current contract between the two companies has been extended for an additional year. The contract states that Cryptologic’s affiliate companies will also be allowed to use the likenesses of Marvel Comics superhero catalog for the purpose of added promotions. In today’s market added promotions are what everyone needs. It no longer is just a matter of bringing a good game to the market. But rather, gaming companies have to push them on every level for them to truly be successful. They need to come up with other ways of bringing the games to notoriety. Not that superheroes don’t have their own draw, but to truly capitalize on their value, Cryptologic has to bring their likenesses to all media forms possible. It can only mean better results for both companies and the gaming public. If they have access to the games more readily, they are going to have a better time gaming at their local casinos and online.

The world of online casinos is growing quickly. If you look at the sheer number of casinos available online today you are going to be startled. Hundreds of results will turn up when you do a simple search, but how do they promote themselves? Promoting online is changing quickly. Now, businesses everywhere are using affiliates. An affiliate is someone who works with an online business to do the promoting work. Affiliates sign up at an online business and then use various tools like social networking and blogs, along with forums and article marketing to promote the project. The business gives each affiliate a coded link and whenever someone signs up at the casino, that affiliate gets paid for the new sale. It’s a great way for online businesses to get their products in front of more people and it costs them nothing unless a sale is made. Now online casinos are using affiliates to market their websites.
Over the years the affiliate market in online gambling has grown tremendously. Now there are more companies focusing on using affiliates to bring the casinos to a new notoriety. In particular, it is a tool that newer casinos are using and research is showing that it is effective.

Casino operators are moving toward to build affiliate plans that are lucrative for gamers and bring the best of gaming to the market. Normally a casino affiliate marketer can expect to get a packet upon signing up and that includes their individual affiliate link, Twitter posts that are able to be edited, Facebook entries and MySpace updates and blog posts. They are also built for affiliates who have their own emailing lists. Casino companies work hard to arm their team with the best updates possible. It is almost like having a newsletter that they can distribute to a hundred different mailing lists. So far in the online market affiliate marketing is one of the most effective ways to get a company’s brand out there. Look into affiliate marketing and you’ll see how lucrative it is with online companies.

There is good news in the world of gambling now that Google TV has announced that it is going to be advertising via online casinos. This is a huge move in the world of business. Since the beginning of time people have used advertising to bring in new customers but casino gambling has taken a while to take off. It was a sign a few years ago when the WSOP, or World Series of Poker, saw corporate sponsors get in on the fun and start advertising at the tournament. It was a good sign that poker and gaming overall is quickly moving into the mainstream. Though it used to be an underground activity primarily, poker has taken a new popularity in the market. Once the WSOP started welcoming mainstream sponsors, it opened the door for an entirely new market to see how much fun poker is and how it is a game for anyone, not just the high rollers.
Now that Google TV has made advertising moves onto big name casinos, it is going to also open the door for other huge online giants to look at gambling as a viable option for advertising. Companies are realizing how huge the market is and how potentially lucrative can be if managed properly. It is estimated that 217 million people play games online and that means billions of dollars in revenue are sitting there. Advertising is taking on a new configuration with the addition of the casino market. Expect more big name companies to take on the online market and see how much money is available. With an online market of approximately 1.9 billion worldwide, advertisers know that they can’t dispel the notion of using casinos to bring their own brands to the market. They are going to push that market and now that legalization of online gambling is a topic for almost every state, that means more and more people are going to enter the market. They will be easily reachable via advertising to their markets and companies are going to take full advantage of that and bring their own products and services to the gambling market.

If you are used to using online businesses, then you no doubt have heard about affiliates. Almost every web business that offers a service or product has an affiliate program. An affiliate program is one that relies on its members to spread the word about the product. They do this through social marketing, web marketing and various other ways of bringing news to the market. The payback is that when they sell a product, the affiliate gets a cut of the sale. So for example, Company A may have an affiliate program that offers affiliates 15% of the sales they make on an application that costs $50. Then the affiliate would enter into an agreement that pays out $7.50 per sale. There may be a cap on that payment, so the company could say that an affiliate has to make $50 for a payout. That means that anything under $50 will be kept in the affiliates account until they reach that total and then it will be paid out via PayPal or some other money transfer company. The way affiliate programs work is via a tracker. Every affiliate who signs up for a program has his or her own unique tag at the end of a link they share. That tag identifies them to the company so the right affiliate gets the right amount of money. Overall affiliate programs are growing in popularity because of the changes in the market. Now more and more people are looking to online social marketing as a means of bringing in added income.
Now online casinos are working with affiliate programs to help bring in new customers. The world of online gambling is highly competitive and that means that finding new ways of bringing in customers is an integral part of the world of online gaming. Affiliates are becoming very important because it is a means of free advertising and promotion for online casinos. They can rely on the expertise and know-how of online users to bring them in new paying customers. Most online casinos pay out well to their affiliates because they know that the returns are going to be well worth the while. And, it’s no time expense out of their own pocket to find and sign up new customers.
