There are still some problems to be ironed out in the online gambling market. One country that is struggling with the issue is France. The French gaming market is under some criticism lately due to its odd rulings regarding taxation. The market is known as one of the highest taxing countries. If a company wants to hold court in their area, they have to pay hefty fees for licensing. This is why virtually no one company has opted to do so—they prefer places like Gibraltar. Gibraltar is traditionally known as one of the fairest markets for online gambling companies to set up shop. Their taxation is low and they are reasonable with licensing and other fee schedules. On the other hand places like France are under fire due to their lack of working with gaming companies. As an added deterrent, people are being paid out little. This is a situation that is making gambling in the country a less-than positive pastime. There are few headlines about citizens getting paid out, although numbers are showing that it is not for lack of trying. Gamers in France are playing, but the numbers are dwindling. In fact, since the same time last year their overall gambling numbers are down by about 7%.
Companies are also stating that French legislators are being unfair with their taxation laws. They are charging too much for gaming companies to come in and solicit the citizens of the country. Many companies are saying that they are even considering opting out of the market if things don’t get better. It could mean that French officials lose the licensing and taxation revenues they have access to now if they don’t rework some of the laws. Overall gambling in France has come to somewhat of a standstill in the past few months. Though there is still a customer base, they are wagering less. There are fewer payouts to speak of and that is leaving a bad taste in the mouths of gamers in the country. The country’s officials are pushing for change, but they still believe that their current taxation laws are more than reasonable. Only time will tell if they continue to work out.

One of the biggest advantages of wagering online today is the amount of progressive jackpots you can find. If you have ever seen a headline in online news stating that a gambler won “a multi-million dollar payout” or a “special hundred-thousand dollar payout” most likely it was due to a good progressive game. Progressive games are the ones that take their payouts from the wagers they collect. Some games are built to have a stationary payout. You play the game and you can win $5,000 or $10,000. There is nothing that is going to change that payout at all. The absolute most you can walk away with is that amount. On the other hand there are progressive games. These are the ones that grow by the minute. If enough people are wagering on them, you can watch the ticker move up quickly. Progressives are some of the best games in the market, plus gaming companies are smart. They know that to make the progressive payouts even bigger, they have to build them around their most popular games. This is exactly what they do. The games are normally some of the best because the developers are trying to build the most enticing game possible. If gambler participation is what is going to build up the payouts, why shouldn’t they try to make the games as much fun to attract as many gamers as possible?
The only caveat with gambling on the progressives is that you have to be ready to wager the maximum amount of coins the machine allows. This is because without all lines activated you can still win, but you won’t be eligible for the big payout in the end. Just imagine playing a smaller amount of lines and then getting the top-winning combination! You could end up walking away with $50, rather than the $1,000,000 payout you would have won if you were playing all the lines! This is why some people don’t play progressives. They cost a bit more to activate all the paylines so you have to have a bigger bankroll to sustain them over time. If you do though, they can be some of the most fun and possibly life-changing games you are going to find in the market today.

Still with online gambling there are some safeguards you are going to have that you wouldn’t in a land based casino. First of all, you don’t have to worry about theft. You are sitting in the privacy of your own home and if you win, money is transferred directly to your account. When you are depositing to your account, that too is done with a few clicks of the mouse. There is no such thing as carrying a hefty bankroll throughout a casino and worrying about who is watching you. Or walking to your car with the same concern. In addition, your personal banking information is now shared with a cashier or any third-party. As long as you are working with a reputable casino, you won’t have to worry about information sharing or sales to another party.
You want to make sure a casino is secure before you start wagering at it. Then you want to make sure it offers the top notch bonuses that are available in the market today. You should have access to a good startup bonus and a good VIP program. Both can bring you added revenue and stretch your bankroll considerably. You are going to love the ways casinos come up with new promotions. Almost every time of the year is going to have a long list of casino specials attached to it. Now, for example, with Christmas upon the gaming community there are tons of special Santa/holiday specials to be had. All you have to do is a simple search online and you are going to find a huge array of promotions to take advantage of. This is the best way for you to keep your bankroll growing and stay in tune with how much the casino market online has to offer. In the end, online gambling is just as much fun as land based gaming, but brings an added convenience and security bonus. If you love games, do yourself a favor and find some online casinos that offer premiere gambling. You are also going to find some of the biggest specials and payouts in the online market. A lot of times they are bigger and better than the ones you find in the land based world.

The world of online gambling is growing exponentially these days. Just look at the numbers of casinos out there that are entering market. The good news is that they have plenty of gamers to sustain them. In fact, research is showing that thousands of new gamers enter the market every month throughout the world. This is a sign of just how popular gaming has become over the years. It all began with land based gambling. In droves people went to land based casinos to play games, participate in bonuses and come up with special holiday comps and deals. It was a lucrative time for gamers. Then suddenly online activities started to grow. People started purchasing items online, paying bills online and then playing online games. This opened the door for more and more online casinos to start building their own brands in the market. They called to people with outstanding games and bonuses. The world of gaming online has developed too. It began with a small casino having a few free online games. Then it progressed to games that you could wager “real” money on. Then customer service grew and started building promotions and specials for loyal gamers. They came up with startup bonuses, VIP bonuses, special promotions and other bonus games to enjoy. This only created more of a market once people realized how much fun they could have online and how much they could potentially win.
The question for some people remains though: is it safe to wager online? The answer to that question isn’t as easy as a mere “yes” or “no.” The answer is “it depends.” It depends on what the gamer does to research the company they want to wager at. The first thing you need to know is whether or not the casino is using secure servers. This isn’t a given in the world today. There are still some companies that don’t use the topnotch protocols that are available in the market. These companies need to upgrade but have not seen fit to do so yet. These are dangerous- remember that you are going to be sharing pertinent information with the casino so you want to first and foremost make sure they are reliable with it.
Part two coming next.

Technology is allowing online gambling to grow quickly. If you look at the visual quality of games a few years ago and then compare them to what you see now, you can see how far the market has come. It is just like the growth in cell phones or televisions or computers. Their features a few years ago are ions away from what you can get now. Online gaming is the same. Technology is allowing developers to create bigger and better games for their gaming public. As they do this, they solidify a sure gaming public that is going to be happy and continue to wager in their online doors. They know that if they don’t offer the best games and promotions, another casino will. It is making things highly lucrative for gamers, and a lot of fun. All you have to do is find a few of the top casinos and sign up for their newsletters. You will automatically get their specials and promotions sent directly to your inbox. You won’t have to search them out—rather you can sort through what you get in email and pick what you want to wager and what is the most beneficial to you and your style of gambling.
Now Celtic Casino just announced that it has a great change for its customers and potential customers to take advantage of. If you love “live online gaming” then you are going to love this casino. Live gaming is when you log into an online casino and rather than just see an animated version of a table with cards, you see an actual dealer standing there handing out cards. You also hear the sounds of a land based casino. It is the closest in virtual gaming you can get to “real” gaming. You won’t have to leave the privacy of your own home, but you can still feel like you are wagering at an actual land based casino. This is a huge advantage for people because they seem to want the “real” feel of a casino without having the stresses of getting there. Celtic Casino is sure to be one of your favorites because of all it has to offer on top of its wagering structure. The games are top notch and varied and the promotions are great. Add to that the “live dealer” feel and you can’t go wrong.

Russia is a country having problems with gambling. In Europe it is one of the few countries that has legalized forms of gaming in the online world. It has worked hard to build up these forms of gaming and knows full well the benefits of the activities. Residents have shown that they want to wager. They want their opportunities to continue wagering and taking a chance at the big payouts online casinos are building for them. Still, the country is now having problems with regulation. Despite the openness of allowing gambling companies into the online market, there are still quite a few underground and illegal gaming facilities that are still in operation. Right now Europe as a whole is seeing a lot of growth in the market and a lot of new customers joining in on internet fun when it comes to wagering. Russia is no different. The problem though is how to legislators effectively manage the activities and assure that people are not opening their own doors to illegal activities? This is a difficult question that is creating many sleepless nights for legislators trying to get a handle on it.
The Russian President Dmitry Medvedev stated recently that he wants the illegal activities that are running rampant to immediately be stopped. This was due to the overwhelming amount of undercover and illegal gambling facilities working within the country’s borders. To combat the problem Medvedev is stating that their own legalized online and land based gaming facilities can offer better gaming and better advantages than these illegal casinos can. He is also trying to call attention to the problem with illegal gaming and how it does nothing to protect gamblers. Plus if they have any issues, there is no third-party regulator to go to and speak up for them in an effort to find a solution. This could cause problems if they do run into problems. Hopefully the president is seeing this discussion as one that will continue to deter people from patronizing illegal gambling companies. Unfortunately these companies are getting smart. They are offering gamers things that the legal casinos cannot and claiming they have a lot more to offer.

High-roller games, in general, and high-rollers are not the main concern of anti-gambling activists. They believe that these games for the most part are not going to contribute to the big addiction issue. On the other hand, it is the smaller-wager games that could seriously dupe gamblers into believing they are wagering much less than they actually are. Consider that if you wager at a high-stakes poker table it might cost $150 for the entire game. If a gamer does this three times in one week, that totals a lost of $450. It’s hard for a gambling addict to hide that much of a loss consistently over time. Most likely a spouse, friend or other loved-one is going to notice the decline in their finances. The very nature of high-stakes games makes it hard for addicts to manage consistently. Sure they may go overboard here and there, but their main focus is on games with a much lower requirement for wagering at.
Take slots next. Research is showing that these, by far, are the most addictive games you are going to find in a casino. The reason is connected to their wager requirements. You can wager on a game for as little as a penny in a casino– in fact, most land based and online casinos have more than a few selections if you want a penny-slots game. You can browse through the options and pick the best game. If you wager for an hour, research shows that you are going to spin the reels about one-hundred times. That means that at the end of a few hours of gaming, you have only spend a few dollars, assuming you didn’t win. It’s much easier to hide a $20 per day wagering habit from family. No one is going to question an extra $80 a month gone– it could be spent on food, clothes, gas, etc. Because it is more difficult to uncover, gamblers who are addicted to slots may end up much deeper into their addictions and require much more help than gamblers who are at higher levels. It could take a lot longer to alert family and friends to get the person help. There is a definite connection between gambling addictions and slots and experts are cautioning people to be safe and be aware.

One of the biggest concerns with gamers and legislators is the connection between gambling and addictions. It is this problem that most legislators cite as their primary concern when it comes to legalizing gambling. They are worried that if gambling is totally legalized, it will open the door for addictions to run rampant. People with the ability to wager in the privacy of their own homes will not have the chance to monitor themselves if they are prone to addictions. This could create an entirely new customer base that is in need of social programs to help with the problems gambling has created for them. For example, if one-hundred people fall into addictions a portion of them could lose their homes and cars. This creates foreclosures and repossession issues. Another portion of them could be in need of psychological help. This creates another need. A good portion of them will need some recovery services. This too would create added cost to the economies involved. Some legislators believe that the cost of legalizing gaming in the long-run will be more of a problem than a solution to financial strains now. They acknowledge that gambling could bring in millions of dollars, but what if most of that money has to be portioned out to fixing the problems gambling created in the first place? Is this really an advantage? Legislators who are anti-gambling are citing this as the main reason why they are sticking to their proverbial guns. They believe that gambling inevitably brings along with it crime, corruption, money laundering and addictions in mass numbers. Are economies ready to shoulder all of that? Or are the pro-gambling legislators too blinded by the millions of tax revenue dollars attached to officially legalizing gambling in the first place?
These questions need to bee answered, but one thing that has come to light is the connection between gambling and addictions. Some games are more likely to pose problems than others. Take high-dollar games for example. Research has shown that if a game has a higher buy-in, it most likely it isn’t susceptible to people going overboard. The odds at these types of games aren’t that high and people wagering hundreds of dollars normally know what they are doing. The only exception is people who are so far into addiction that they have lost touch.
Part two coming next.

For years now the horseracing industry has been in serious trouble. The recession was hard on all markets. One thing people cut back on drastically was gambling. Casinos—both online and land based—felt the repercussion with dwindling numbers and lowered customer bases. Remember at the height of the recession the unemployment numbers were high. This left people with diminishing nest eggs and little to no discretionary funds left over. People were more concerned with making their house payments and bills, rather than gaming at the newest online or land based casino. Although the recession was over, racetrack activities have not returned to normal. They are still down and this is making it even more difficult for them to stay open. Another problem is the new casinos cropping up in the market. This is creating competition that racetracks are not yet ready to shoulder. One location that knows this all too well is New Jersey. The state has long been struggling to reinvigorate its gaming and racing industries but it isn’t happening as readily as hoped.
Now the state released an editorial with a statement that the racing industry is in need of approximately $200-million in revenue from tax payers to keep their businesses up and running. This editorial came out during a difficult time in the market. Although people are recovering, they are not yet bringing their hard-earned money to the racetracks. This is causing more and more problems for the industry. If they can get a huge amount of cash, they can continue to create bonuses to bring in more customers and hopefully turn their businesses around. In a lot of ways this editorial outlined a mini-stimulus for the industry. Just like financial institutions received economic assistance from the government, so the racing industry is asking for the same thing. WHether or not this will reasonably happen has yet to be answered. Will tax payers agree to contributing to a flailing market? Will tax payers see this as important enough a cause? Or, will they just look at racing as an out-of-date activity that should be evolved out of the market? Only time will tell what happens, but this is an issue that the state of New Jersey will definitely be debating for some time to come.

One of the latest changes in the world of online gambling is the inclusion of social networking capabilities at online websites. It is no secret that social networking has taken off. Just look at the progression of new games in the market that are opting to connect people. Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, LinkedIn—all of these websites are social networking websites that help people to meet each other, keep up with each other, network for friends, dating and business. The market is opening up widely and people use online social networking like no other outlet to communicate. A recent study showed that more than 70% of all people seeking jobs use online social networking in one form or another to keep on building their circle. They want to make sure that they have all the opportunities possible and working with word-of-mouth and newspapers just isn’t as effective as it once was to anyone involved. This is why more and more people are looking to online social networking options for their everyday problems with connecting.
One of the trends in the market of online gambling as a result is more and more casinos are pushing towards having their own chat feature built into their websites. You can play games but have a separate window open where you talk to other players. You can connect with them during the games and also connect outside the games. Players can create their own profiles and then send email communications to each other on top of just chatting during games. This is a great way for people to connect and to supplement the social aspect of gambling. A lot of people ventured to land based casinos for the gaming, but also for the social connection. With online gambling you are at a disadvantage in this area because of the fact that you can play games from the privacy – and singularity—of your own home. Now that casinos noted that, they are trying to come up with ways to bring that social aspect back to gaming and allow gamers to communicate with each other on various levels. Adding social networking is a key way to keep the lines of communication going while people are wagering in the online world.
