If you have been watching the Las Vegas market then you know that there have been issues as of late with reviving the financial economy. Las Vegas was particularly hit hard when the recession first began. People stopped wagering and that made it difficult for them to survive. Revenues were drastically diminished, but their expenses were the same. This made survival difficult. Although gaming companies did what they could to survive—built bigger promotions and specials—it did little to actually help the market. Operators are doing research on the market and they are pushing for a turnaround. It is slow in happening though. Recent figures were tallied and released showing another disappointing month for the economy. Revenue was down by 11.6% from the same time from the previous year. In fact, all of this year’s numbers have been down. There are eleven casino locations in the state and they all posted declines for the month of September. It’s been a two-year long struggle for them all to turn their revenue streams around.
If you look at the city as a whole, you can see why the entire state is suffering. Nevada has no secondary market when it comes to revenue. This is partially what is creating such a problem for them. They have relied solely on gambling revenue for decades now and considered themselves to be somewhat impervious to changes in the market. Until the recession, they were. The recession of 2008/2009 is what stifled many economies. Overall the problem is only elevated due to the decline in numbers in almost every game. Slots are down by 9.9%, table games are down by 15.6% and the overall decline is what is hampering the market from turning around. There isn’t just one problem with the gaming revenue numbers—all are down straight across the board. In former times one or the other saw declines but the other was able to still rally the casino. Right now operators in Las Vegas are hoping to change things enough to still bring more customers in. They are fueling billions of dollars into the economy hoping that it will make things more attractive to gamers. If they can bring in the millions of visitors per month that they once did, the Las Vegas economy has the chance to possibly revitalize itself.

More and more legislators are working with various gaming law to see what works for them. Oregon is a state that has long been debating the issues. No one is doubtful of the millions of dollars that are available via a good gambling plan. It can bring in millions of dollars per month and that is money that no state can really pass up. Since the recession, governments everywhere have been in search of financial revival. The problem is that people are not yet spending like they once were and the unemployment rate is still higher than manageable for many economies. Jobs are opening up, but not at the rates high enough to absorb the sheer number of unemployed who are in search of them. Oregon is still debating the issue as a result—this time it is Measure 75 that is coming into play. It is asking residents of the state if they are supportive of a new non-tribally operated casino in the state’s Multnomah County. The attraction here is that if a casino is brought in, the money from operations would go to the state’s own coffers. Twenty-five percent of all earnings by the casinos would go directly to the state in tax revenue dollars. Residents are being wooed by the possibility of that cash being brought into the market. it could not only turn things around due to more growth, but it also could bring in more job possibilities for the locals to benefit from.
The difference with this pending proposal is that it would be a mass scale casino. Developers are promising to make it even more profitable than anything the state has seen thus far in terms of gambling casinos. It isn’t a question of when they bring in money, it is a question of whether or not the gambling public is going to support it based on the advantages. Measure 75’s support is the goal of the developers looking to bring the casino into the market. It may take some time, but it will be an issue to make it happen. Part of that issue will rely on the amount of overall advertising the developers provide to the market and how convincing they are that this is beneficial for all parties involved.

The world of gambling is no simpler to sort out than it was a few months ago. In fact, now it is even harder because of the problems more gamblers have brought with them for wagering. Sure the market is expanding, but that is making rules more important than ever for legislators to sort out. Legislators are prioritizing legalization and regulation. Part of their reasoning for the efforts is due to the huge tax revenue dollars available via gambling. Let’s face it—there are few other options that governments can use that will bring them in millions of dollars in revenue every month. For example, Ohio recently posted a revenue increase thanks to gambling of $3.5 million for the month of August. Multiply that by twelve, and the state has a potential revenue of well over $42 million. That money can help to shore up the budget, and overcome the deficit. Other states are looking for the same financial freedoms that gambling offers and trying to implement their own rules regarding pay and regulation.
Part of the biggest problem with regulation is that gamers have to be protected. There are still some unscrupulous casino operators out there and they need to be 1) revealed and 2) stopped. The government has already created an internet fraud division that is tasked with helping to follow up on complaints from illegal online purchases or activities. The problem though is that they don’t have much to go on. It is still difficult to track all illegal activity and that is making it hard for legislators to find code that will truly protect people involved. Still if the government is going to push for legalizing gambling they have to keep working with laws and regulations. It may take some time to find the right codes to help people, but it is going to be necessary. Although there are millions of dollars to be had, they come with a responsibility and a price. They have to make sure that all gamblers are protected as they venture to the world of online gambling. Expect more legislators to push for rules and regulations that do just that for the gaming public.

For a long time the gambling market has been suffering as a result of the recession—hopefully things are turning around though. Nascent signs of a turnaround are showing and they are proving to be great news for the gaming public so far. This year there has been a turnaround in gambling in Las Vegas. It started off slow though—gaming companies were prepared for the worst of times to visit them during these times. It wasn’t without warrant either. Gamers just were not visiting companies with their funds. For a long time gamblers were hard pressed to pay their bills, much less pay other bills. Now things are turning around though and that is great news for all involved. Las Vegas recently reported numbers and noted that it brought in $168 million. That is good news for the city because of the hefty deficits and shortfalls in budgeting that it has been experiencing in past years. Since the recession the city has had a hard time with recovery and hasn’t rallied as of yet. This could be a beginning sign though that it is ready for some changes to come about.
Remember that Las Vegas is a premiere gambling center in the US. The problem though is that it has left some of that prowess behind since the recession. No longer is it a singled out leader in the market, but rather it has had difficulties pushing forward to hold the title of top gambling center in the world. Countries like Macau and Gibraltar have pushed Las Vegas off it number one slot. It’s no secret that since the recession, Las Vegas has been down and is showing small signs of turning things around, but nothing monumental. Though the city brought in $168 million, the Singapore Marina Bay Sands for example brought in $241.1 million in revenue. It excelled beyond the estimate on what it would potentially do and over-performed. It’s comparisons like this that are causing experts to question whether or not Las Vegas can rally and regain its position as a number one gambling spot in the market. Or, will it take a backseat to newer cities that are making their own marks on the industry?

The question of online gambling and its legalization in the state of Maine has been up for debate for almost a decade now. It was back in 2003 when the question first came up on the ballot. There were referendum votes included in the issue for that time but only one time did the referendum end up passing. It was in 2003 when voters decided that Hollywood Slots Hotel and Raceway would be well served in Bangor Maine. Now a casino in Oxford is the next idea up for vote by the public. This time there is some debate though. Oxford County Casino is financed by Penn National gaming and that means that it is going to be big. In fact, the Oxford County casino is scheduled to be a $165 million business that brings some of the best gambling to the area. No longer is Maine willing to sit back and wait for gaming to come in—rather the state is pushing for its own gambling initiative and hoping it happens with voter approval. Voters are enamored not only with the long list of revenue streams a new casino will afford them, but also with the job possibilities that a new casino offers. It’s no secret that the markets are suffering with the unemployed. For months now workers have been put on hold and had to sustain themselves with unemployment wages. It would be a huge advantage to the market if they were able to come up with a plan for implementing gambling in addition to the already up and running Hollywood Slots casino.
Hollywood Slots Hotel and Raceway has already made waves in the market. It opened recently to a long list of gamers who wanted to come in and test their luck at the games. The casino was a huge draw in the first weeks of operations and it has already proven to be an asset to the communities surrounding it. Namely its slots parlor is one of unparalleled proportions. The slots parlor is one of the best new casinos in the market and offers a lot of gaming fun to any visitor. If you are in the Maine area, visit Hollywood Slots Hotel and if possible the new casino that may be erected. Overall the state is pushing for premiere gambling and this could prove to be an asset for everyone involved.

If you are looking for a new online game, then why not try a game of blackjack. The thing about blackjack is that it is one of those games that offers the duality that a lot of gamers want…there is part luck and there is part strategy to the game. Sure the game is a “gambling” game and luck plays part in the outcome, but you have a great opportunity to influence the outcome with swift gambling choices. If you want to start blackjack gaming, then first spend some time studying the basic strategy chart. This is a chart that shows you the overall probabilities of winning games based on the cards in your hand and on the table. The entire chart is built on mathematics and probability and that is why it is so reliable to gamers everywhere. They know that it is the cornerstone of gambling at the blackjack table. The one caution is that you should always make sure the chart you have is an accurate one. If you get your chart from online, remember that anyone can post anything online and claim that it is the “right” resource. Compare a few together to make sure that it is offering the same outcomes as everything else on the charts you pick. This is the perfect way to make sure that the chart you have is the accurate one.
Next, like other games of strategy, you get yourself in on a wide range of game varieties. This means that you should play in as many different scenarios as possible to hone your gaming skill. If you are used to playing with friends, log in online and play a game with strangers. There is no doubt that if you play with the same people time and again, you are going to form a synergy. You can anticipate—even if just subconsciously—your friend’s moves and act accordingly. You want to play with people who you can’t predict. A great way to build up your gaming skill is to play in a few tournaments. These are high-paced and can teach you a lot—plus they are normally very cost effective. Blackjack is one of the top online and land based games for a reason. If you lots to wager and pick blackjack as your next game to master, then spend some time learning the game, practicing the game, and then playing. You are going to find your own rhythm and hopefully start winning as a result.

• Read the VIP bonus structure. A good VIP bonus structure is one that grows with you as a gamer. For example, a good bonus will offer you one point back on every, say $20 you wager at first. But, when you reach a certain level that bonus point starts to kick in after every $15 you wager. Then when you move even higher, that bonus starts as you wager every $10. See how it gives you bigger returns as you continue to gamble? This is what a good casino will do for you every time. The only caution with any style of bonus is to be sure to read the terms and conditions. Some casinos build special terms into their bonuses and if you don’t adhere to them explicitly, you run the chance of losing the bonus. This is why it is important that you always understand what exactly is going on with the bonus and the structure of every one. If you don’t have all the answers, or don’t understand something a casino writes in their Terms of Service, feel free to call customer service and ask them to explain before you start depositing your money.
• Customer service is key. Speaking of customer service, you want to make sure that you have all your questions answered. Don’t be afraid of getting to customer service and asking them questions before you sign up. They should be upfront and transparent. If you don’t feel comfortable with something, feel free to move on to another casino. There are hundreds of good ones in the market right now and you are going to find good ones as long as you search.
• Security protocols. You want to make sure that the casino you are working with has top notch security and safety for your gaming choices. This is standard in the industry but you still have to check to keep yourself safe. Remember that online security is your job to find. Be sure to read the casino’s terms so you know exactly what security protocols they use.
In the world of gambling there are hundreds of viable gaming options. You want to make sure that you are in line with the overall gaming excellence. Do your own checking but then sit back and have fun. Remember that gambling is a fun pastime that is supposed to give you hours of entertainment. Do the proper checks first, but then use it for just that: fun!

In the world of casino gambling t here are many telltale signs of a good casino versus a bad one. The good thing about the market today is that it is highly evolved…not that it is at a stand-still, because it isn’t. Technology is providing plenty of room for the market to find huge growth still. The best thing is that no one knows how much room there still is for the market to continue to expand, but developers are ready to explore it. If you are in the market for a good online casino then there are a few things you can do to assure that not only are you going to find it, but you also are going to have a great time gaming there. Here are some tips:
• Look at the games it offers. Most online casinos pick one or two specialties, but then still offer some side games. A good casino is not only focused on one style of game, but has the ability to be a full-service casino. That means it has a long list of fun for everyone to enjoy. If you love poker, you are going to have hours of fun, but that doesn’t mean you won’t want to take your chances at a different game now and then for variety. If a casino offers it, they know that they can keep your allegiance and not lose you to a casino that offers another style of gaming. With the exception of completely obscure games, you normally will find a good variety of gaming options at every top notch casino.
• Look at the beginning bonuses it comes up with. Remember that in today’s market it is premiere that you get more for your money than just the actual game. You want a casino that can offer you a start-up bonus. Normally these are in the form of match bonuses for gamers. For example, a casino may say “New players get a 100% match bonus on deposits up to $500.” This means that if you deposit $300, the casino is going to throw in another $300, giving you a total of $600 to play with. This is a great way to stretch your dollars and come up with gaming in a cost effective way.
Part two coming next.
