One of the things that is illegal in gambling in counting cards. There have been planet of people in the past and even now that count cards in the game of blackjack, and this is more or less cheating. If caught doing this you will get banned from the casino to say the least. A professional card player is known as a card shark, although it has been used in a derogatory way as well; some people refer to card counters as card sharks although this is not usual at all.
Aside from the slot machines, a dime bet is not ten cents, but rather a $1000 wager, and a dollar bet is a $100 bet. So when you are at a card table you should definitely keep those terms close at hand in your head. You have probably read and heard about the house edge, the house edge is a word used to describe the percentage advantage the house holds on each casino game. In a game where you can drop out of a bet, that is called folding. So if you are playing poker or say blackjack and you decline to bet and drop out of that round you decided to fold. Many times you will hear gamblers say the need to break even or get even, all they are saying is that they are trying to win to at least end their gambling session with the amount they started with. Sometimes high rollers on a bad night look to break even, but usually regular gamblers who don’t bet with large amounts of money look to break even when the night is not in their favor, and if a gambler is on a winning streak he or she may refer to themselves as being hot.
Most casino games both live and online are to the house advantage which means the casino percentage in each particular casino game. And while you are at a live casino you won’t want to deal with a klipper. A klipper is someone who lingers around a casino looking for free hand outs. If you ever are bothered by a klipper and there is no staff walking around you can always find a pit boss to help you. A pit boss is found in the pit at the casino. A pit is the area of a casino where a group of game tables are arranged, and the center is restricted to the dealers, certain casino personal and the pit bosses.
