Gambling Tips for a Beginner- Part 1

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

If you are new to online gaming, take a moment to understand a few things about playing at the casinos online. Being educated about online gaming will make for your experience to be more pleasurable and entertaining, plus being prepared might help you to lose less, and maybe win more. Many people wonder before making the decision to play at any online casino, is it safe? Of course it is safe, however, you should never assume the casino you have chosen is safe. Remember you will be sharing private information at the casino when you sign up, and you want to be sure security measures have been taken to protect you. Checking for the eCongra seal of approval is one of the first few steps to checking for security, if the casino has this symbol you can rest assure the security measures taken for you are the best. Check for casino awards, and what type of software they use. Some of the best software providers are RTG (Reel Time Gaming Group), PlayTech, and Microgaming Software. There are others that are safe too, but those three have impeccable reputations. Also read the ‘About Us’ section on the site, and if there is a live online chat room in the casino go and there and talk with the members, and ask questions, this will usually ease your concerns. Plus you can also talk to a customer care rep, and at most casinos they offer three types of ways to contact them, phone, live chat, and email. Don’t be afraid to ask anything, no question is too small or dumb.

Of course bad seeds have been found online with some of the online casinos, where games where rigged, or players did not get their pay outs. However there are watch dog groups who as soon as they learn of a problem like this, tend to fixing it, and usually a casino that is bad gets found out quickly. There are not many of them, they are rare, but with anything to do with money, there are the greed mongers. However, most casino owners and operators know that if they are fair, and true they will keep the customers coming back and gain new ones. Why anyone rigs an online casino is beyond thought, because in the long run they make less money than if they had been honest from the get go. Don’t freak out, just remember this is rare.

The Inside of a Great Casino

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

Haven’t been inside an online casino, or have only visited one or two? Pretty much all online casinos offer the same things, table games, video poker, slot machines, high tech graphics, promotions, bonuses, and a slew of other things. However, some casinos specialize in certain games such as slot machines, or strictly table games. You will find less with only table games, and more with just slot machine games. There are also poker rooms, as well as sports betting. Although casinos have a lot of similarities, they all have different themes and graphics, though many casinos can have similar graphics and themes because they use the same software and the games can be similar from one casino to the next because of the software provider. There are far more online casino sites then there are software providers, and when you enter a casino, one of the things you should check out is to see who they are powered by; many casinos use PlayTech, Reel Time Gaming, or Microgaming, though there are a few other software providers outside those three. Each casino online uses the software they use in order to deal their games, arrange deposits or withdrawals, and offer the very important customer service you may need from time to time.

Keep in mind that the rules and or the payouts offered on a game could be different on the different software’s or even different at another casino that does use the same software. It is just a good idea to be mindful of these things. When you do walk up to a new game, be sure to do a little research. Read the instructions, or at minimum get into the habit of reviewing them, prior to playing. Just because two games look the same, doesn’t mean they are. There are a wide variety of games out there and software companies make slight changes in the payouts of various machines, the bonus games and the special features. They do this to keep you on your toes and to avoid boredom with gamers. Overall it is a great time to get in on gaming because of how fast the market is developing.

Learning Poker Can be Fun

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

A lot of online gamers have spent their time playing games of chance. Slots, for example are based on a random number generator, or RNG, that dictates where the reels end up. That, in turn, tells them whether or not they have a win. There is not a whole lot you can do though to change the outcome of the games because of their foundation on the random aspect of gambling. The problem with the games is that you can’t take them any farther once you play them out with all of their options. For seasoned gamers, this can be a point of contention because of boredom. The games don’t have an infinite number of possibilities. On the other hand, there is the game of poker. Poker of course is a little more complex than slots.

Poker is a game that offers you a lot of variation. The game combines the best of luck and strategy. Sure you are going to have to have some luck to get a good hand, but there are definite things you can do as you play against other people at the table. This is where strategy comes in. Poker allows you to work on your skill level by working your way into various gaming situations. If you are a beginner to the game you can start slow with lower-wager tables. This is a great way to learn how to change your strategy as you get used to the game. Once you get more comfortable, you then can move to higher-wager games. The great thing about playing poker in a land-based casino is that there are tables for every wager requirement. If you have a limited bankroll then you can still find games to play. Once you get used to more poker play, then you can enter tournaments. These are fast-paced and the players normally have every skill level so you will be able to hone your own skill as a poker player. Whatever you try, be sure that you take advantage of all the tools out there to learn one of the most fun games you can find in the casino today.

Roulette5 Enters the Market

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

One thing that you can count on in the gambling market is the overwhelming amount of games being brought to the market. Software developers understand better than anyone that gambling online is big business. They know that there are billions to be had and if they don’t keep customers coming into their casinos, other casinos will. The market is highly competitive these days so if businesses aren’t ready to handle the demand, then they are going to grow out of the industry altogether. For this reason developers are expanding considerably. Their goal is to make sure that online gamblers are kept happy. That the games are out there to keep them busy and that they are kept interested. If they aren’t then the companies risk losing millions in revenue.

WinADay.com is a website that knows full well how online gambling is moving. They just announced the release of a new game called Roulette 5. It is a game that takes its base from the classic roulette game, but with a little something extra. The game allows players to walk away with up to 5 times what they normally would win with just one spin of the wheel! The roulette player also gets to pick how many wheels to spin simultaneously. There isn’t a whole lot of variation with roulette gaming- until now! WinADay.com has just shown how gaming companies have to continue to develop games online. They have to push the envelop in terms of return and capability to keep the gaming community interested in what normally would be considered a “routine” game.

The best thing about Roulette 5 is that it also can be played by people with varying bankrolls. The one problem with a lot of newer games is that they require a big bankroll to manage. When one spin of the wheel is valued at $20 by the casino, obviously people with a $50 bankroll would want to steer clear of the game. That is not the case with Roulette 5– in this game you can wager as little as twenty-five cents and all the way up to a fairly large wager. Take advantage of this new version of the classic gambling game called roulette. It gives you the best in gaming, but also a little something extra for your trouble!

Pokerstar.com in Trouble for Illegal Gaming

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

The US has long been trying to quell the surge of illegal offshore internet gambling. In a lot of ways though, they are the ones who started the issue. Back in 2006 the UIGEA, or Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act, came into play. It deemed online gambling illegal and tasked financial institutions with the job of flagging and denying any activities that were affiliated with online gambling. Banks were not happy because of the added cost of man power to scrutinize every activity that came through their online doors. They were overzealous in a lot of ways though. If they were found to allow a transaction through, they faced huge fines and the money was seized. That put them in a position of having to strictly police the issue. Unfortunately, it swept a lot of gaming activities that by all accounts should be under the “legal” category to be denied by banking institutions. Because of the UIGEA, gamblers in the US opted to move to offshore gambling companies for their gaming needs. They offshore companies of course were more than willing to take on their business– and the millions of dollars that came along with it. Now the US is concerned about the funds that were and are continuing to be channeled out of the states.

In a lot of ways it is too late because the US passed on millions of dollars that will never be recovered. US officials are still fighting though. They recently went after Pokerstars.com for $13 million that was eventually forfeited to them. Pokerstars, along with Allied Systems and Allied Wallets, were accused of processing illegal financial transactions for US players that went to offshore companies. The US govenrment alleges that the money was used to further grow these offshore gambling companies and to reach an even bigger US customer base. The money was all traced back to Pokerstars.com and this is where it originated. For that reason, Pokerstars.com was the target of the investigation by the government. Expect more companies to come under US attack for illegal activities. With a huge price tag that offshore gaming companies are collecting from US customers, no one is going to pass up the huge amount of revenue without a fight.

Are Slots Getting Stale?- Part 2

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

On the other hand you have slots. They can get dry after a while and seasoned gamers may find them to be routine after a while. For this reason gaming companies have to commit to bringing new games to the market. For the most part in past months though, that hasn’t happened. It seems that they have focused a lot of energy in other areas of gambling, but ignored slots gaming. The slots that have come into the market are refigurations of older games that have a few changes here and there. For the most part, the slots game is the same. Any five-reel game is going to be similar to another five-reel game for a seasoned gamer. Sure the symbols and details may be different, but it always is the player against the RNG, random number generator. The outcomes are random but come from a limited probability of outcomes. So what does the market need to do to handle the boredom?

Gaming companies have to once again focus on slots gaming and how to bring it to the next level. One good thing that is happening is its growth to the mobile gaming platform. It also is moving quickly to tournament world. If you are bored with slots gaming, then it would do you well to look at these options. Tournaments can be exciting. Even though you are playing on the same game, the casino normally has a bigger payout. In particular the progressive games come with big payout pools and you can win not only cash, but a wide range of other specials and bonuses. Hotel stays, trips, comps, meals, merchandise and many other things are part of the wins in slots gaming tournaments. In addition, moving into mobile gaming with slots can also help you to reinvigorate your love of the games. Now that the market has spoke, expect gaming developers to focus on changing the games. The bottom line is that slots are big business and that means that companies have to work with them to keep customers happy. The technology is there, but developers have to start focusing on bringing slots gaming to the next level of success.

Are Slots Getting Stale?- Part 1

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

It seems that an interesting thing is happening in the world of slots gaming. If you look at forums and blogs on slots gaming, the prevailing belief is that developers are not keeping up with the market. They are lagging in creating new games with newer features to keep slots players interested. This is an interesting assessment since for the longest time slots gaming has proven to not only be lucrative, but to bring in thousands of new gamers over any given month. In the past slots were a sure-fire way for gamers to enter the gambling market. The games are more varied in wager requirement than say, a poker table, so that means that they fit into more bankroll limits. Right there, that opens the door for more gamers to get in on the fun. But did it cause gaming companies to get lazy?

It seems that a lot of slots gamers who have been at it for a while think so. They think that there really isn’t a whole lot of new things in the market. Games in general are revamped with possibly new symbols and maybe an additional wild, but that is it. Other than there, games are stale. The thing about slots gaming is that once you get through the entire game, you can play it a few more times to see other options. In particular if it has a bonus game within the game, you can make different decisions and get different outcomes. The thing is that once you get to all the various options, there isn’t much else you can do with the game unless you want to just keep on playing. On the other hand, games like poker for example offer a wider range of potential outcomes. It has differences due to the other players’ decisions, the dealers cards, etc. That makes for a differing gaming exeperience every time you join in on a poker game or tounrnament. The same goes for any card game where people are involved. They vary up the overall gaming experience and add something new to it every time you play.

Part two coming next.
