World Series of Poker Circuit Event Begins
Recently the World Series of Poker Circuit event started in Las Vegas. Las Vegas has suffered a lot since the beginning of the recession. All stated suffered, but Las Vegas saw an even bigger blow due to the fact that so much of its economy is built on the gambling industry. Cities that had one main industry are having a more difficult time recovering from the recession. Detroit, Michigan for example is a city whose main industry was automobile manufacturing. When the recession brought that industry to a halt, there was no other great industry for the city to fall back on. Las Vegas is experiencing much of the same problems. It was built predominantly on the gambling industry. With people losing jobs and home value, they had no money to continue gambling with. For that reason, casinos were brought to a dead standstill when it comes to bringing in the revenues needed to continue operating. Most casinos created specials, but had to drastically drop their prices to attract customers. It is first now that some are seeing nascent signs of growth and change in their markets.
This World Series of Poker Circuit event began with a $230 no-limit hold’em event and boasts nineteen poker tournaments within. The games included were limit and no-limit games and pot-limit Omaha play. Included were three double stack no-limit hold’em events and an event for women-only of the same type. This was a great time for gamers to get back into gambling routines and a great chance to walk away a winner. The final event was held on April 27th and there was a $5,000 no-limit hold’em event that sparked attention worldwide. If you love poker, these are the types of events you need to get in on—even if it is just to watch the progress over the tournament’s lifespan. The best way to see if you want to venture into the market is to watch how players work their hands throughout an official tournament. Practice some strategy and do some research. Then ease your way into a small tournament. It will be fun and if you get lucky, you may even walk away with some payouts.
