Sunday, February 28th, 2010

Today’s market for gambling is highly competitive. It takes a lot to be in the casino market and remain viable to the gambling public. If you are looking for a premiere gaming facility, look to the Orleans Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas. The Strip is where it’s located, and anyone who knows anything about gambling knows that the Vegas Satrip is one of the top-notch areas to find outstanding gambling and nightlife fun.

The Orleans Casino and Hotel has won numerous awards over the years that prove how much it has to offer. Not only gambling publications, but player polls both prove how much the casino has to offer. In 2008 the casino was voted “America’s Favorite Off-Strip Casino” by the American Casino Guide. The casino has over 1,800 rooms and suites that center on luxury and decadence. Every room has a small suite that is solely a sitting area. The hotel’s 1- and 2-bedroom suites all have the compete convenience of home but they also offer panoramic views of the surrounding Las Vegas Valley. It’s a great way to see the area within the walls of comfort.

In addition to great hotel rooms, the casino of course has premiere gaming. You’ll love the number of games available and how much you can find. The hotel offers headliner entertainment and the Orleans Arena located next door and often features wrestling, circus events and is home to the Las Vegas Wrangler’s Hockey Team.  Live entertainment is also featured in the lounges to dance the night away.

The great thing about today’s gambling market is that competition is pushing all top-notch casinos to press further and extend even greater promotions and specials to the gaming public. In particular, Las Vegas suffered greatly during the recession and is now trying to make as many incentives as possible to once again bring people back to the once-popular area. It’s a difficult time for Las Vegas, but with casinos like The Orleans it shouldn’t be long before people start venturing out again to gamble and take their vacations. Test out The Orleans Hotel and Casino yourself and see what a huge benefit it is to any gamer.

Casinos Prove Lucrative to Local Areas

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

In the midst of the post-recessionary economy, there are many problems to overcome. One of the main problems the Obama administration is facing is finding ways to overcome the unemployment rate. In the past two years, the unemployment rate has soared and millions of Americans have found themselves without jobs. Businesses cut back on jobs to stay in business and those jobs are yet to be recreated in the market. With a lack of jobs, the unemployment rate is stifled and unable to recoil from disaster. Though the government is giving tax breaks to businesses if they create jobs, the revival has been slow in coming.

One of the biggest pushes of bringing gambling and new casinos to various cities is the job creation that inevitably will come along with the new constructions. Developers are pining for casinos hoping that not only will jobs be brought to various areas, but also money will be brought into the markets. For example, Kentucky has long been toying with legalizing and regulating gambling. The state, like most others in the US, is hoping that gambling will be the answer to the state’s overall budgetary problems. The recession brought many states to their knees in terms of funding. Many programs are going to be cut without some viable way of bringing in additional funding. There are few options available but gambling is proving to be one that most legislators are at least willing to hear out. The UIGEA was the last ruling the federal government made regarding gambling and it stopped financial institutions from managing activities relating to gambling. This caused people who wanted to gamble to merely gamble elsewhere. They moved to offshore gambling entities and channeled billions of dollars out of the country.

Now that the government is realizing what a mistake the UIGEA really was, its legislators are working together to change things. They want to legalize and regulate gambling for the purpose of not only bringing jobs into the market, but also bringing in millions of dollars to the state, city and federal level of government. It’s a difficult time for the US states and budgets throughout, but hopefully new laws can aid in bringing in much needed funds.

The Let it Ride or Parlay Betting System

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

Gaming strategy is an old concept. Consistently over the years people have tried to formulate ways of gaining an edge in gambling. Gambling has been around for years and people have spent their entire lives trying to come up with ways of beating the system. Though gambling is random and based on luck and chance, many people believe that math plays a huge role in gambling.

One method is referred to as parlay or the “Let it Ride” betting system.  The parlay is a positive progression betting strategy which is similar to the Paroli system. The Parlay betting strategy is one of the oldest forms of wagering and it was originally derived from the same concepts that banks use to compound interest. This system is commonly used in horse race betting. This simple and efficient system covers the flaws of the Martingale system. The basic design follows the concept of pyramiding. That is a method where wagering an original bet plus the original winnings are put down for future bets. To utilize this system properly, you have to start making bets of any size. If you win, you put the original bet and part of the profit back down to bet again. For example, if you are playing at a $5 – $100 limit casino blackjack table. Let’s say that you are feeling lucky and begin with the maximum bet of $100. You are a dealt a blackjack and are paid 3:2 on your money which is a $150 net profit in addition to getting your $100 initial bet back. In the parlay betting system, you are working on a pyramid-based concept so you have $250 to wager with on your future bets. That $250 is made up of your initial $100 bet plus the additional $150 profit from the initial bet.

So if you are wondering if the parlay system should be used during your gaming, remember that overall it is a moderately risky strategy. You also can combine the parlay system can be combined with other strategies to maximize your win.Overall, you should play with various strategies and see which ones work best for your style and choice of gaming. It is important to know how you play and then make the right decision for your gaming skill and style.

The House Advantage in Blackjack

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

Blackjack is one of those games that has a wide variety of play. In the midst of variations, it sometimes is difficult to know what the house’s true advantage is and how it’s affected. It is an advantage to understand how specific rules change the house edge because it helps you to understand what games are right for your style of play. Remember that variations all change the outcome you can reach. When it comes to the house advantage, that means the overall statistical edge the casino has over the long term play. It is a percentage that shows you what you can expect to lose given an infinite number of hands. Standard blackjack has a significantly lower house advantage that is normally less than 1%. This is why blackjack is so popular. Changing the rules though can change that house edge considerably. When considering the house edge, here are some things to remember:

  • Do the resplitting rules really bring an advantage to your play?
  • Does the dealer hit or sit on a soft 17? How does that affect the house edge?
  • Is there an addition of a 5, 6 or 7-card Charlie?
  • How many decks are being used? (This affects the statistical average)
  • How will an alternative payout for a natural blackjack (Ace and ten) work to your advantage or disadvantage?

These are all important things to consider when deciding what your payout chances are. Remember that strategy goes a long way in bringing the house edge down so work on altering your odds during all games. If you are going to play a specific blackjack variant for any extended length of time, you should find its perfect strategy and memorize it or print out a strategy card for it. Playing in an online casino makes it much easier to refer to a strategy card. Online gaming is popular for a reason. It can be easier to keep track of all changes and game variations. There is normally some instruction to follow throughout your gaming experience with online play. It’s a great way to get your feet wet and get used to games before you actually go to a land-based casino and jumping into blackjack play.

The 1-3-2-6 Betting System Explained

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

In the world of gambling there are various methods offered that promise to help you win. If you do a Google search for “strategies in gambling” you’ll surely have a wide range of returned websites that offer just the tips you need for a sure-fire win. Don’t believe them. Though there are a lot of scams out there, there are some strategies that do hold valid due to their being based on math. The 1-3-2-6 betting system is one of them.

The 1-3-2-6 betting system is a blackjack betting system that is based on the Paroli system. It states that you can win four times in a row when playing. It is a positive progression so you increase your bets each time you win a game. For example, say you are betting $5 and have even money odds of 1:1. If you opt to use the 1-3-2-6 betting strategy, the first bet you place will be one multiplier, the second will be a three multiplier, the third bet will be a double multiplier and the final will be a six multiplier. That means your first bet will be $5. The second bet will be $15. The third bet will be $20 and the final bet will be $60.

This is when the betting cycle is complete, so you loop back and start all over again. But if you lose a bet at any point before the betting cycle is completed, you start back over with the original $5 bet. With this system you are risking a small amount to win a much larger amount, if you complete the betting cycle. You can lose 6 times at the worst level, the second bet, and still completely cover yourself by winning all 4 bets of the cycle one time. If you want to know whether or not to use this system, consider this– this system would be fun for a recreational player but no serious blackjack player should use this betting strategy to try to turn large profits. This system is perfect for the recreational player but serious blackjack players would not be able to turn large profits.  You are required to win 4 hands in a row to completely cycle the system and turn your profit. Remember that strategies, in general, are helpful, but rarely sure-things. Understand your goals as a gambler and then act wisely. If you modify your wagers, test this strategy out and see if it works for you. You just may get lucky and walk away with a good payout.

The Basics of Blackjack Explained

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

The goal with blackjack is to draw a higher total point value of cards than the dealer, without going over 21. The natural 21 is the Ace and a 10. That adds up to a perfect 21. Blackjack is a favorite game because it’s easy to follow and learn. And it’s a fast paced game that keeps everyone interested. To understand the game, here are the basics. First there are the basic strategy charts. The left vertical colum of the chart shows you your hand and the top horizontal comumn is the dealer’s hand. If you line up the comumns where your hand meets the dealers,  you’ll see the correct play. Here are abbreviations to know before playing:

H – Hit

S – Stand

D – Double if allowed, otherwise hit

Ds – Double if allowed, otherwise stand

P – Split

H/P – Split if you can double after split, otherwise hit

H/R – Surrender if allowed, otherwise hit

P/R – Surrender if allowed, otherwise split

S/R – Surrender if allowed, otherwise stand

To play the game of blackjack you need to memorize the basic strategy chart. Remember that blackjack is played quickly and once involved in a game, you don’t really have a chance to think about your decisions. It’s crucial to make split-second decisions throughout gaming. You can refer to the strategy charts before you memorize them. Most casinos will allow you to use the cards when your playing for reference. It’s good news for anyone wanting to get use to gaming without losing eveything. It is a quick game though so learning how to read the chart is important.

Some players may try to discredit basic strategy because they tried using it once or twice and ended up with a losing night. Basic strategy just shows the proper mathematical decision, for every blackjack scenario. This does not guarantee that you will always win when using it. It’s simply the foundation for all other blackjack strategies and is a must learn for any serious player. Blackjack is a favorite game among gamblers for a reason. It’s a great game of fun and skill. It’s pace is very quick and that only makes it more exciting for gamblers. Do a little studying but then test your luck at the game and see how much fun it is.

Understanding the Paroli Betting System

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

In the world of gambling there are many  methods offered. Just spend any amount of real time in a casino— land-based or virtual– and you’ll surely be hit with more than a few “experts” who want to sell you their sure-fire scheme to win big. The reality is that most are not valid. Remember that gambling is gambling for a reason– the unknown outcome. Sure there are some games that are more accepting of strategy, but a lot of games just are based on pure luck. No strategy or method is going to affect the outcome.

There are some strategies though. The ones that are based on mathematics are proven. One example is the positive progression system. It is considered to be the opposite of the Martingale System and it’s called the aParoli betting system. In it you start betting with one unit. If you win the first bet, then you increase your bet on the next wager. To use the Paroli system you need to first create an overall betting plan before you begin playing. Decide exactly how far you are going to increase your bets to until you start the system over again. OF course this all depends on which type of game you are playing and what kind of odds you are getting at the game.

For example, if you are playing at an online blackjack table and have $100 sitting in front of you, you need to make some decisions. If you have decided to use the Paroli strategy and you are starting your bets at $2 each, then you place your first bet at $2 and your second bet at $4, etc. You double your wager each time you win. This increases your bet and your win, hopefully. If you continue to win, you’ll have a bigger payout than if you had played conservatively and kept your initial bet for your consecutive wagers. When it comes to the Paroli betting system, once you reach your third bet you stop and return back to your $2 wager throughout the rest of your gaming session.

The advantages of the Paroli system is that it doesn’t require a large bankroll to start. Some other systems require a hefty initial bet that is repeated throughout the game. The Paroli system isn’t like that so almost anyone can start playing using it.  This betting strategy is generally considered the most stable type of betting compared to other systems.
